Benjamin Boyce tells Steve Blame what life inside Caught in the Act was really like—from auditions and manufactured backstories to screaming crowds, fans camping outside his home, and police visits looking for missing fans.

He revisits the breakthrough around “Love Is Everywhere” and German soap GZSZ, his relationships with Eloy de Jong, Bastiaan Ragas and Lee Baxter, and the pressures behind the boy-band image.

Benjamin also gives his account of management conflicts, contracts and the band’s breakup. He explains why he wanted a solo career, how difficult it was to escape his boy-band identity, and why he stepped away from the reunion plans.

Speaking from Florida, he reflects on starting again—and whether he would ever perform with all four original members.

This is an archive interview. References to his location, relationships, work and future plans reflect the time of recording.
