In this interview, she talks about her book - You’re History; The Twelve Strangest Women in Music.
Chow views Janet Jackson, Neneh Cherry, Shakespear’s Sister, Chaka Khan and Sade as ‘outliers’ in pop, and that they are critically underrated, yet have pioneered what the author calls ‘strange’.
Chow also explains her love of the sublime, and talks about the artists above, and additionally Nicki Minaj, Janet Jackson, and TLC.
This book is a great read, and will make you listen to music differently.
