46m 1sDr. Alban is a stage name for Alban Uzoma Nwapa, a Nigerian-Swedish musician, rapper, and producer who gained significant popularity during the 1990s. He is best known for his unique blend of reggae, dancehall, and Eurodance music, combined with socially conscious lyrics that often touched on topics like unity, love, and human rights.
He moved to Sweden to study dentistry. However, his passion for music led him to pursue a career and in the early 1990s, he released his debut album "Hello Afrika," which featured the hit singles "Hello Afrika" and "No Coke."
Alban's musical style was defined by Dennis Pop - the late legendary Swedish producer. His biggest hit was It's My Life which charted worldwide.
