Recently, Per has diversified, by returning to who he was as a teenager and reimagining his life, creating three distinct personalities - Mental Overdrive, Wave∞Form, and N∆EON TEARDROPS - and through this innovative and fascinating method, has created the music he believes these personalities would themselves create.

Born and raised in Tromsø, Norway, Per Martinsen developed a deep passion for music at a young age. His early encounters with the burgeoning electronic music scene in the 1980s sparked a creative fire within him. Inspired by the likes of Kraftwerk, Brian Eno, and the early Detroit techno pioneers, he embarked on a journey to explore the limitless possibilities of electronic sound.

Beyond his solo endeavors, Per Martinsen has collaborated with various artists and musicians, including Biosphere, and Rune Lindbæk, among others. His contributions to the electronic music community extend beyond his own productions, as he has also become a respected DJ, performing at renowned clubs and festivals worldwide.

Per Martinsen's artistic vision goes beyond the confines of music. He is also known for his multidisciplinary approach, blending visual art, installations, and technology to create immersive audiovisual experiences. Through his innovative and boundary-pushing endeavors, he continues to leave a lasting impact on the electronic music landscape.

N∆EON TE∆RDROPS' debut album TESTIMONY is a collection of the songs Per never wrote and produced, but that has now surfaced through a rift in the veil between the worlds of what is and what could have been. The ten tracks on the album catch up on the influences of thirty years of electronic music, flirting with alternative electropop, echoes of eighties darkwave, breakbeat-fuelled nineties power- ballads, and noughties electronica - all brought to life with a 2023 twist.

Wave∞Form
In the parallel universe of WAVE∞FORM where a mid-life crisis opens the creative gates in an individual that has never made music before, experimentation and flow are the keywords to unlock the demons and ghosts of the machine. The debut album "Waveform01" was released in 2020 to critical acclaim, and the follow-up "Upon These Waves I Sleep" dropped digitally in 2022, with a vinyl release to follow in the fall of 2023.

Mental Overdrive
Thus, the story of MENTAL OVERDRIVE was re-written, based on the traces of blurred memories, releases, memorabilia, photos, and press-cuttings from the "real" world, mixed with an imagination all dressed up with nowhere to go - in true "Keyser Söze" style. The result was the "multi-dimensional autobiography" PYRAMIDS ON THE MOON - an ongoing three-part story where Martinsen explores three different imagined timelines of his own life, and where each of the three personas living in parallel universes creates music under different aliases.
