WestBam: Techno DJ Maestro Who Brought Down the Berlin Wall bringing East and West together.

WestBam, born in Münster, had spent his adult life in Berlin. ⁠He had an unconventional upbringing, where rules were there to be broken, something which he achieved with his music and DJ-ing.

He foresaw the role of the DJ as the star, even in the early 1980s, organized the first MayDay rave, and continues to make music and DJ.

This episode is an insight into an artist born into a culturally privileged background, but who, like many children do, rebelled against his hippie-era parents. He also talks about how he developed a manifesto as a teenager that described the DJ as the star of the future. He also talks about how music played a role in bringing down the Berlin Wall.⁠
